Description: This course will be part lecture, part workshop in the field; all to be held at the Orlando Wetlands Park
in Christmas on Wheeler Road (off Ft. Christmas Road).
Class Dates: three Saturday sessions on April 4, 11, and 18, 2009, from 2:30pm to 5:00pm
Cost is $25.00 for Audubon members, $40.00 for non-members.

- Recommended field guide is Butterflies through Binoculars: Florida by Glassberg, Minno,and Calhoun,
2000, Oxford Univ.
- Also recommended are close-focusing (6 ft. or less) binoculars.
Examples/websites: Eagle Optics Ranger SRT 8x32, for
example, has a minimum focus of 3 feet. Or here for

Annual Ft. DeSoto Overnight Field Trip

Trip Details:
- Reservations for 15 rooms have been made at Eckerd College for Friday night, April 24th.
- Cost with a Friday night stay: $80.00 per room plus $10.00 per person.
Which means: a room with 1 person is $90.00, a room with 2 people is $100.00,
and a room with 3 people is $110.00.
- There is a cost of $10.00 to attend the Saturday field trip for anyone NOT staying at
the college on Friday night.
